ABOUT Jonathan Biddlecombe


Jonathan Biddlecombe, born in 1963 in Cape Town, South Africa, is a globally admired artist known for his unique Naive art in mosaic style, working primarily with watercolor and charcoal. His works are featured in private and corporate galleries, with collections spanning South Africa, Israel, Canada, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and the USA.

Jonathan studied graphic design and fine art at Cape Peninsula University for seven years, focusing on figure drawing and illustration, and graduating with honors in book publication and illustration. His artistic career includes painting large theater backdrops for productions in both Cape Town and Dallas, as well as contributing illustrations and paintings to books and magazines.

In 1996, Jonathan and his family relocated to the United States, where he continued to lead various design and book publication studios. Watercolor has become his true artistic passion, and he is currently experimenting with new styles and techniques. His latest work centers on themes such as 'Biblical Festivals & Holidays,' 'Jerusalem,' 'Insects,' 'Birds,' 'Judaica,' and 'The Creation Series.'
